Hey friends!
WOW. A lot has changed since we last chatted....I'M ENGAGED, EVERYONE! Ready for the proposal story? Good, because I am SO ready to share it with you guys, here we go =]!
Thursday morning (January 3rd) began at 5:30 am when I woke up to a hand on my arm. I flipped over, saw Brandon standing above me, and groggily asked "What are you doing here?" Since we don't live together, it was an extremely odd circumstance that he was randomly at my house so early in the day. He told me to wake up and I simply asked "Why?" I'll be honest, at first I was both confused and slightly annoyed because it was so early for me to be up. He shook my arm again and said "wake up, we're going to Disneyland!" That was all it took. I popped out of bed like a pop tart and screamed "WHAAAAAT!?!?!?" He had planned a surprise trip for us! I was SOOOOO beyond excited! I packed my bags as fast as possible and we got on the road by 6:00 am.
We drove, and drove, and drove....until finally, we arrived at Disneyland around lunch time. Thankfully, Disneyland was still on Holiday hours so it was open super late (until midnight); we had plenty of fun time ahead of us! We began with a ride on Space Mountain, eating corn dogs, and seeing the sights. After a few hours, he suggested we head to California Adventure to check out Tower of Terror and California Screamin'. I happily agreed and we strolled over to the other park. Once through the gates, Brandon asked to use the bathroom (little did I know, this time was used to prep all of his proposal supplies =]) while I people-watched on Buena Vista Street. Once he returned, we got fast passes for Tower of Terror. I noticed the line was short, so I suggested we ride it right then and there, but he said he wanted to do Screamin' instead. This strategic move on his part was in order to get us over to where his plans could unfold. I was slightly bummed, but went along with it because Screamin' is another awesome ride, haha!
We weaved through A Bug's Land into Cars Land before Brandon pulled out his camera and began taking some pictures of the Christmas decorations and sights in the area. I gave him a minute, then said "I know a short cut to Screamin', let's go this way..." but he quickly interrupted me with "NO, it's busy over there" as he almost ran in the other direction. I was really confused, but still so happy to be there that I didn't care! Again, another strategic move on his part, haha! He found a photographer in the middle of the road and suggested we take some pictures before our next ride. I never pass up a memory making opportunity at Disney, so I happily obliged. As I took my bags off and prepped for the pictures, he handed the Cast Member the camera and quietly gave her some instructions that I didn't catch. I was still completely oblivious, as you can see in this picture we took...

He took the camera back after a few pictures, slipped a video camera into the Cast Member's hands, and handed me the camera. "What do you think of those pictures?" he asked. I looked down at the screen and noticed something fishy...the photo was in the exact same place, he was wearing the same outfit, but in this picture he was on one knee while I was literally jumping for joy. Suddenly, the words "Will you marry me?" caught my eye on the screen...and then this happened.
I WAS IN SHOCK. Happy, excited, giddy, complete shock! He surprised me, the most unsurprisable human on the planet! I was (and still am) SO impressed that he got me so good! Our families were all in on the secret beforehand, so when I called to tell everyone they were already thrilled and ready for the news! How awesome =]!
We finished off our amazing Disney day with lots of rides, "Just Engaged!" pins, bride and groom Minnie and Mickey ears, and MANY congratulations from cast members and strangers alike =]!
Our best Wreck-it Ralph impressions =]
Now, I know what your all wondering...what was on my nails for the proposal? Ironically, nothing at all! The surprise trip came before my planned mani for the day, so I had naked nails. I think it's pretty funny that he picked the one time my nails weren't done at Disneyland, haha =]!
To celebrate my Cars Land engagement and make up for a missed Disney mani, I've created these Lightning McQueen nails! I used OPI Color So Hot It Berns, OPI Ogre The Top Blue, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, Zoya Arizona, SinfulColors Snow Me White, and Wet N Wile Black Creme for these nails. Take a look =]!
You can see the ring nicely here =]!
Ohh....what the heck, here's a few more shots of my beautiful ring =]!
There you have it =]! Brandon did amazing, I'm beyond happy with my ring and the extremely special proposal he planned! I'm a lucky girl to be able to marry an incredible man like him ♥!
♥,
Lindsey
